Miroku 600

Postby Coldfinger » Wed Oct 28, 2015 2:16 pm

Multiple years of target shooting has resulted in a bad habit of aiming just below a clay and missing. It also results in a lot of swearing. I've been offered a Miroku 600 ORE trap gun and am sorely tempted to ditch my Laurona O/U. I'm shooting a some sporting and some DTL but no skeet.

Any thought or comments about the gun (rather than my ability to miss)?

Rather than spend money on another gun, get some coaching to help improve your shooting
Having said that miroku are great guns, so if it makes you happy buy the new gun and get lessons

I've not had a chance to try it, unfortunately. I was trying to borrow it last week but the plan fell apart.

On Sunday we have our monthly clay shoot so I'm asking him to bring it along for me to try.

I'll let you know.

With the butt plate attached the Miroku is about 4 inches longer than my Laurona and is heavier.

I picked a spot in the distance, closed my eyes and mounted the gun. When I opened my eyes the barrel was pointing right and high. The Laurona points right but this has a bigger rake than that.

I fired thirty through it and probably hit about 50%, some of those were simultaneous pair sand I got one pair at the cross-over with a single shot....

It feels OK, mounts OK and I can look straight down the backstrap without any problems without worrying about the rake. There's a slight crack in the stock in line with the safety but it looked dark so it's probably an old crack. It's on sale for £350 so it's not expensive for a Miroku.

I'm tempted and will think on it for a few days.

Worth it at that , a crack can soon be rectified , they are a good gun .

Poor light spoils the images but it looks better in the flesh.

I did 50 DTL with the Miroku :(

I got some advice from a coach too. He suggested that I change the gun so I spent a few pounds more and now have a perfect solution for my clay shooting.
