I've been looking at the Hatsan escort 12g semi auto. Don't really want to spend a lot on my first one...probably no more than £500.

Thanks.

As for the Escort.......... :thdn: Yes I know they are popular, but they are SO ............................ :turd:

I don't like Semi-auto's but if I was going to get one it would have to be a good SH Remy 1100/1187

Plenty of choice of S/G guns that are well within that budget, or even a new Hatsan semi - and yes, they are perfectly OK.

all I can suggest is to visit/fone all the gun shops in your locality and see what they've got and what suits you

Focus more on the gun fit that what it is. Take advice if you need it. You'll hit more with a £100 old banger that fits than something expensive that doesn't suit you.

I hate to agree with Bill - he is my son after all - but he's right on this.
All that really matters is to get a gun that fits well. Don't hesitate to go to your local shop on a Friday afternoon, borrow a gun that you think is OK for the 72 hours allowed, shoot it at the weekend and then go back to the shop on the Monday morning to either take it back or pay for it - and do that as many times as it takes to get one that really does fit.
