i have a little problem with my shotgun after 5 to 10 shells have been shot my spring screw or the screw that holds the front wood come lose has anyone had a similar problem also its a left handed gun and another thing is that when i go to load the shells i have to press a button on the side to allow loading the reason i am asking this is because i used to have different semi auto and i didn't have to do that with the other one and its a pain for fast reloading when the pigeons are flying away

I think the more recent Escorts don't have the mag release button, but I may be wrong!

Yep, I had one from brand new (well 3 actually, as the first two had 'issues' ) and the button was a pain.

Regarding this screw... Is it the actual fore end retaining nut that screws onto the end of the mag tube?

If so, that shouldn't be coming loose. You may have lost one of the little innard pieces?

The cap/nut that holds the forend on has little teeth on the flange, and there is a little ball on the barrel that should engage with the teeth and keep it from turning. You feel the notches as you tighten the cap. Check the ball is standing proud and is engaging the teeth properly, and this should be enough to keep it from ever working loose.

The button is a PITA, I don't understand why they have them.

And when it starts to tighten... Do you hear a 'clicking' sound?

Are you sure that the fore end is actually properly engaged? It's easy to fail to locate it properly, and if it's not properly in place so that it seats as far back as it will go, you will have a problem.
