Folks!
I hope some kind person can help me with a reloading issue?
Anyway recently I was given a quantity of H&N bullet heads in .357 [180gn] & 8x57 [180gn]. I managed to find the load data for the .357...but am stuck with the 8x57 [mauser]. The reason is [as I've only just found out] is that the H&N bullets cannot be fired using full loads...they must use a reduced load.
On the H&N site they say that their bullets are not FMJ...instead they are copper covered [a lot thinner covering apparently] & they publish some load data...& for their 8x57's they suggest 15gns of Viht N110. Now I always thought that you shouldn't underload a cartridge?...& I use N140 in any case [no data available].
I don't really want the expense of buying yet another powder...as once these heads are gone I certainly wont be getting any more. So does anyone know if I can use a reduced load of N140 for these bullets [they should be classed the same as cast lead apparently]?
Thnks
John
