Evening members,
Im looking to upgrade to thermal dedicated scope in next week or so to aid my fac .22 theoben.
I have not used these before but have read much info on them and watched many a video on you tube over the last few weeks.
It is a mine field to make out which one to buy.
I am torn between the atn mars 4 thermal or the atni mars thermal,
Has any one used these or can suggest a thermal for me,
thank you in advance for your response.
Regards kce.

Just an update on thermal,
I have a rep calling to my house in the morning at 10 am to bring me samples of thermal scopes as in the atn mars 4.5.18 and the new range of I RAY thermal scopes so will keep you updated.

I have an older night vision scope. It has a thermal element to it. The world looks so different through thermal. Plants reflect heat differently so it a whole new world with thermal in regard to foliage. To extend the range of thermal sometimes a IR lamp is used to light up a target. I works like a flashlight but Iis only visible with a thermal scope.

Hi Flintlok,
That is interesting to know so I will look out for that this week.
Thr rep came and was a very nice guy and had many a sample to show me which took some time.
We could not have planned it better as when he got to my house it was snowing very heavy sods law lol.
There was no snow forecast and have not seen any over the last year.
We took the ATN mars 4 hd 4.5 x 18 out of the box and I must say it was better than what I thought it was and very well made and much larger in size but was not much heaver than my existing set up.
After 10 mins it was easy to learn how to set it up and use it with the nice rubber onboard keys.
We took it outside although daylight and went through the colour modes white hot, black hot. And the colour hot/ and the image quality was very clear and crisp out to about 400 yards and beyond.
It was a nice clear image on the heat from the chimneys and the heat escaping from certain houses and was nice to see 3 magpies at around 250 yards in a tree a conifer tree which you would not see with a standard scope.
you could also see all the branches which surprised me as I thought you would only see heat sig.
After another 10 mins outside going through the settings we went back in the house and looked at a new range of thermal scopes and add ons and spotters
The make was IRAY and I can say they were also very well made and very light and compact.
We took out the scl25 and the scl35 and what a piece of kit they are very neat and compact and very easy to use.
There are no thrills on these but the quality was superb and the image quality was even better than the atn with the added feature of image quality setting.
It was a very hard decision for me to make when buying this thermal It was between the atn and the scl35 but due to atn and being new to thermal there is lots more info on line and videos to help learn the learning curve of thermal.
That said we had a good long talk and in the next week or so he is going to send me and scl35 to help in the advertising and get to know the make and put it through its paces and upload videos as to how it performs in the field.
All I can say is I will keep you updated as time goes on and I can also say this guy has the time to call to you and let you try before you buy and help you decide on what you want from a thermal and he does a very good discount on most thermal, scopes.
I don't know what the rules on here are as to am I allowed to put the chaps name and details on here he is a registered business and vat rated not some con artist as I have met a few over the years.
He has asked me to get some people together to come out and he will give demos so if any of you guys need a demo just pm me on here and it can be sorted.
Regards kev.
PS am I allowed to add pics on here of thermal scope and images in future?
