YES!!! Got a load for the .204 sorted

Postby Beer Hunter » Sun Apr 20, 2008 7:54 pm

I've had my new .204 Ruger for a couple of months now and not managed to get time / weather to develop a load.
Well today, between a heap of other stuff I managed to get the ladder tests done and build a load.
I'm getting 3979 fps from 39 grain Sierra's pushed along with 30.3 grain of BL-C(2). It would have been nice to break the 4000 fps barrier, but I guess that would be asking too much with the heavier bullets.

The AVERAGE group from this load is coming in at 0.42" with a swirling 4-9 mph wind. I look forward to seeing what it can do in still conditions :)

Here is a representative group (0.641-0.204=0.437")

This gives me a 400 yard trajectory like this:

Happy days :) Bring on the bunnies and foxes :DD

Andy,

Will do, but it might take a few days - I'm busy with this on the back end right now.
