Well, after being in storage since last November the Revd Mrs Tommo and I finally got our guns back yesterday. New licences issued by the Isle of Man in a system that is very different to the UK. My FAC is only good for three years and I'm hugely restricted on .243 and .308 ammo. There is no provision on the Island for full bore target shooting so having a 400/200 ammo allowance doesn't wash over here. No matter, other fish to fry, as they say...
What constitutes as a Shotgun Cert over here is known as a Regulated Weapons Certificate. It looks like this...
Now this is good for ten years but it also covers air rifles, Co2 pistols/rifles and crossbows. ALL have to be on a RWC, no exceptions. My Mossberg 500 12g pump is now on my FAC because that's the way they prefer shotguns of that ilk to be classified..
The Revd Mrs Tommo managed a remarkable 'coup' in negotiating a combined price for a 14 gun Buffalo River Black Diamond cabinet AND storage fees. I paid just under £700 for the lot..!!!!!!! Work out the storage costs alone and you'll see why it's so good. Storage costs £1.00 per item, per day. We have 15 'items'. And they have been stored for exactly 100 days...!!!!!!!
Well they are all home safe now..
