Death Wish the Movie and the Gun

It's a slow day on the Shootforum. I though that I would mention during this weekend, in a "Walter Mitty" moment, that I picked a S&W Model 30 snub nose revolver in S&W 32 long caliber. Its' definitely an odd ball caliber however for the Charles Bronson fans of the movie "Death Wish" it was the caliber that was featured when character Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) wiped out the neighborhood criminals. Alas, only in the movies is the S&W 32 long powerful enough to take on determined criminals. It's very marginal for self defense. Should any of you ever stop by Rhode Island, you too will be allowed to have a Water Mitty moment and shoot the "Death Wish" style revolver. It is a rarity and fun to shoot. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I had a Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless many moons ago, in a land far, far away .......... and no, the Colt .32 ACP definitely wasn't blessed with too much stopping power, so I imagine the .32 long was a similar type of round. It was a great little pistol, though, and definitely more of a 'fun gun' than a defensive pistol. :shotgun:

I have several 32 ACP pistols however no Colt Model 1903. I auctioned off my 1903's. I've been reloading 380 ACP lately and I'll do some S&W 32 long loading in the near future. The ammo prices have been sky high of late and those small calibers are cheap component wise to reload. Lately I've been concentrating my efforts in that direction. The ammo prices are becoming more reasonable now but still high. Once things clear up I'll be stockings up on primers and powder. I have more than enough components and ammo for the foreseeable future so I'm good for now. These sub calibers are easy on me to shoot vs the 44's and 357's. I guess that I'm getting more whimpy with age.
