Given the steepness of the hill wouldn't you be better off using a haggis as a butt marker. The shorter legs on one side would make it easier to be upright when marking. :)

One of the bonuses of gallery rifle is that with a normal max distance of 50 yards you can:

a. See your fall of shot.

b. Walk forward, score up and change the target facing.

This has the advantage of twice as much shooting when you don't spend time in the butts!

The downside on our club range is that the 200 yard centre fire range has no butts so you shoot and walk 200 yards, paste up and walk 200 back. On a good day you can do miles! :)

A spotting scope is almost mandatory on anything other than a white target but at least there's no travelling to shoot at 200. Well actually it's 185. If you go back to 200 you fall in the brook! :shock:
