megaorei 3 night vision

Postby Deallad » Thu Nov 19, 2020 8:30 pm

Just ordered a Megaorei 3 night vision unit, looks like the Pard 07 unit but costs a lot less ordered from Taiwan £150

The spec seems good compared to the pard and under half price.

Does any one have or can shed some light on using one

Hope to use on 223 for fox and 30-30 for boar

Regards
Mike

be interesting to see the build quality, the pard is impressive for what it costs

According to the blerb from the company they say it is better than the Pard.

Only time will tell watch this space for a review when it arrives, it was posted yesterday

If its good to 100m on big pigs i will be happy, though hope the 45/70 does not destroy it

It's rated for use up to .308, so your 45/70 might be one bang too much. :?

45/70 recoil is more like a big push than a sharp slap so should be ok :hmm: :hmm:

The unit arrived today.

It looks well constructed though I have to order a lens for my eyes, should take a few days to arrive.
I will give a full review after testing it

Regarding my 45/70 they are more than a big push 405gn rnfp hard cast at 200fps and 300gn jacketed soft hp bullet at 2400 fps is quite a thud, but they drop boar on the spot

the first time on a driven shoot when I pulled out my Henry some laughed, one even said cowboy action might be better suited for my rifle their attitude soon changed when a 300lb hog dropped without a 2nd shot.

It;s not a guide gun for nothing

i am not doubting there effectiveness at all bud, i just thought the recoil was not that bad, but saying that im not recoil sensitive

I also bought this unit a couple of days ago, and I'm impressed with the overall quality of the piece. It feels solid and not many plastic parts, the setup is easy and the IR-lamp has no problem lighting up boars at 100+m.

BUT! The IR lamp is not very well attached to the actual camera, it won't fall out or anything but in its full extended mode it wiggles which will move 100% of the time after a fired shot. Also the ring that attaches the sight to your weapon is a bit thick. Atleast on my weapon, it gives me problem chambering another round.

I'm currently looking for ways to fix these 2 problems, either by reaching out to have an cnc or 3d printed attacher or shimming something to make the lamp sturdy.
