Dog advice

Postby plugg » Sun May 26, 2013 7:16 pm

Guys,

Im after a little advice...
My S-i-L has a Springer/German Shepherd cross pup, 5 months old bitch.
Now, my S-i-L has little time for herself nevermind a pup and she has been trying to get the pup re-homed almost since she got it but to no avail.

The wife is now saying she would like to take her but there lies the problem...We have a lab bitch (4) who is very much a member of the family and has her own routine etc, plus she is steady to gunfire, she retrieves and recalls.

I have a couple of questions like

Will my dog likely accept the pup?
Would my dog naturally 'train' the pup to fit with her routine or will the pup continue with her own routine?

Cheers fellas :)

I'd say you don't have space and they'll become a burden....

Robbie is right though, I dont have the space for two dogs (although the pup is about the size of an adult Vixen)

The fact you asked for advice makes me think you know it's not gonna work. I have seen friends with two dogs and they look like 4 times the work of one.

You're right Tim thats why I asked. I had a good idea that it wouldnt work but TBH I was kinda hoping it would. I simply dont have the space though :(

She is a great wee pooch, obedient, full of life; played great with my lab, very affectionate, vet checked, vaccinated and chipped.

She is free to a good home.
